Celebrating the Film and TV Charity’s 100th Anniversary at Buckingham Palace
Our Managing Director Kelly Mikulla attends Film and TV Charity’s 100th Anniversary at Buckingham Palace.
We are thrilled to share that our Managing Director, Kelly Mikulla, had the honour of attending the Film and TV Charity’s 100th Anniversary celebration at Buckingham Palace this week. The prestigious event, hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla, brought together some of the biggest names in the British TV and film industry to celebrate a century of support for creatives behind the scenes.
Kelly was among the distinguished guests who had the privilege of meeting King Charles, who personally engaged with attendees throughout the evening, showing genuine interest in the charity’s work. Queen Camilla also made a brief appearance, gracefully supporting the event despite recovering from a chest infection.
The event celebrated the immense contributions of the Film and TV Charity, which has been a lifeline for industry professionals for the past 100 years. From financial aid to mental health resources and career support, the charity continues to shine a light on the importance of looking after those who bring stories to life. Its groundbreaking initiatives, such as the Looking Glass Survey, have highlighted critical mental health challenges within the industry and driven meaningful change toward greater inclusivity and support.
Kelly was in exceptional company, rubbing shoulders with legendary filmmaker Ridley Scott, known for classics like Blade Runner and Gladiator, and renowned broadcaster Fiona Bruce. Other notable attendees included Claudia Winkleman, Lenny Henry, Fearne Cotton, Myleene Klass, and Andrea McLean, all gathered to honor the charity’s legacy and its ongoing impact on the industry.
Reflecting on the evening, Kelly shared how inspiring it was to be surrounded by peers and industry legends in such a historic and breathtaking setting. “It was an incredible privilege to celebrate the remarkable work of the Film and TV Charity and to be part of a community that continues to inspire, entertain, and create. The event left me feeling immense pride for our industry and hope for its future,” she said.
As we look ahead, we echo Kelly’s sentiment and extend our gratitude to the Film and TV Charity for its tireless dedication to supporting our industry’s most valuable asset—its people. Here’s to the next 100 years of creativity and compassion!
