Hollyoaks On Location In Brighton

Exciting new filming for the drama series ‘Hollyoaks’ took place in Brighton at the end of January. This is the first time that Hollyoaks has filmed a major on-location shoot since Mallorca in 2022.

Back in October, our Production Co-ordinator Debi Carter organised dates for the Hollyoaks cast and crew to film on Brighton Beach, Seafront, and Promenade. Working with Location Manager Claire Newton, Production Co-ordinator Kym Jowett, and Production Manager Sue Forster of Lime Pictures, as well as our own Location Manager John Alflatt, the scenes are specifically scripted for Brighton.

In this on-location episode, the characters of Juliet and Peri are seen to be enjoying an uplifting weekend away in the beautiful coastal town. The two joined the show in 2018, and after a rollercoaster storyline, Juliet wanted to escape her ongoing battle with cancer.

Only 50 miles from London, Brighton’s diverse and inclusive community combined with its gorgeous Art-Deco and Regency architecture creates a vibrant city perfect for all types of filming.

Seb St. Clair of MS Services took some fantastic pictures of the filming, with attractions such as the Carousel on Brighton Palace Pier representing a sense of joy and escapism, and the winter sunshine on the beach acting as a perfect backdrop for this special episode.

Hollyoaks Production Manager Sue Forster gave us some lovely feedback of her time in Brighton:

 “We all had a great time in Brighton… everyone we met including all the teams c/o Sussex Film Office – John (location manager), Seb and team (MS Services), and Alan (Cross Drones) were brilliant and dealt with all our enquiries/needs quickly and efficiently.  The cast & crew really enjoyed the locations and all Brighton has to offer and everyone commented how much fun they had during the shoot.”

The scenes are to be shown in the episodes airing on Channel 4 on Tuesday, 14th March at 18:30, and Wednesday 15th March.
