Historic Forest With Former Mine Pits

ID: 9557
County: West Sussex

Part of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, located east of Horsham, St Leonard’s Forest isn’t short of fascinating history. Legend has it that a French hermit once lived here in the sixth century. The site is home to a number of former iron mine pits that were closed in the late 1800s. There are a number of private roads, a big open hard standing space for large vehicles, and a car park that can be used exclusively if required. A fantastic location for filming and photography.
