Made In Sussex Film Festival

The Made in Sussex Film Festival celebrates the cinematic brilliance of Sussex, spotlighting films made in the region or by its talented filmmakers. Hosted at the picturesque Depot Cinema in Lewes, the festival combines breathtaking visuals with thought-provoking narratives, reflecting Sussex’s iconic Downs, historic towns, and the sea. The Made in Sussex Film Festival is a partnership between Film Sussex and Depot Cinema in Lewes and will take place between the 25th and 27th of April 2025.

Call for Entries

The festival invites submissions in three categories:

• Narrative Feature: Stories that captivate and inspire.

• Documentary Feature: Films that explore truths, histories, and perspectives.

• Short Film: Concise cinematic gems.

This is your chance to showcase your work in a festival committed to storytelling that reflects the region’s landscapes, heritage, and creativity.

The Made in Sussex Film Festival celebrates exceptional artistry with awards across all categories:

🏆 Best Director

Celebrating visionary storytelling and cinematic excellence.

Prize: £10,000 towards your next Sussex-based film.

🏆 Best Narrative Feature

Recognising the best storytelling in the feature category.

Prize: Apple MacBook Pro Laptop.

🏆 Best Documentary Feature

Honouring outstanding achievements in documentary filmmaking.

Prize: Apple MacBook Pro Laptop.

🏆 Best Short Film

Awarded to the most impressive short film.

Prize: Apple MacBook Pro Laptop.

All submitted films must meet at least one of the following criteria:

The film was made in Sussex.
Have a solid and identifiable connection to Sussex.
It was made by a filmmaker who resides in Sussex.
It was made by a filmmaker who has a strong identifiable connection to Sussex.

• Submission Deadline: 28/02/2025

• Official Selections: 14/03/2025

• Festival Dates: 25/04/2045 – 27/04/2025, Depot Cinema, Lewes.
