My Best Friend’s an Animal
My Best Friend’s an Animal is an emotive, heart-warming series which tells the stories of humans who have unlikely, extraordinary friendships with wild animals. Featuring six compelling stories per episode and filmed all over the world, the series proves that when it comes to friendship, shape, size, or even species is irrelevant. Respect, trust, and understanding can be found in the most surprising places. Today more than ever we need connection, and in this series, we have found the most heart-warming, exceptional, and rare stories of love, companionship and togetherness.
From a reindeer saved from the brink of death, a scurry of affectionate squirrels, and the guardian of a bustling community of two hundred meerkats, this series tells the stories of how humans and animals can save each other’s lives, challenge stereotypes, and enjoy a privileged perspective of each other’s way of living.
In the USA, Cristina and her companion Eggy the goose are living their best lives raising adopted goslings, Ben Afquack the duck is challenging people’s perceptions of addiction with his loving surrogate father Derek, and sixteen-year-old Maliyah spends hours with her best friend Mr P Body the pelican. In Australia, Josh rescued Stormy the wombat from the bush and nursed her back to health in his home, where she has grown up alongside his eight-year-old daughter Ashlee, becoming a family of wombat whisperers. Gigja and her family in Iceland are The Puffling Patrol, rescuing pufflings confused from light pollution and gently launching them into the air to gain enough momentum to carry on their puffling journey. In Namibia we meet Cindy the Baboon who was taken in by Barista 29 years ago and Betsy the Warthog, raised from infancy by Barista’s son Ruben. In the UK, we meet Elliot and Loki the very mischievous raven, Rachel and Luna her badger companion, and Dave with Tolga the fearless otter. We reveal extraordinary friendship bonds between humans and wild animals.
Big Wave TV got in touch earlier this month as they wanted to film a small shoot over the course of a day at the beach in Bognor Regis, as well as filming underwater from a boat for the next series.
We don’t know when it will be released, but stay tuned to Sky Nature to find out!
