Oatly – Soft Serve

“One day soon, Oatly soft serve will be available on every street corner, in every city, across all the world. But until then, we brought it to a boardwalk in Brighton, UK in the hopes of making viral content that inspires all soft serve machine owners to serve our products. This is how marketing works, apparently. Enjoy.“

Brighton-based The Progress Film Company got in touch with us in June 2023 as they were working on a production for their client, the sustainable brand Oatly. Oatly were releasing Soft Serve ice cream in a number of markets across Europe and to promote the release, they wanted to create a video series called “Soft Serve For All” where they would take their ice cream to the most intriguing locations in Europe and interview the most interesting people about life and ice cream. Well, what more of a quintessential, fun, and unique British seaside could they have chosen than our wonderful Brighton seafront? The crew headed to the city for 2 days of filming, where they met and offered ice cream to a wide range of people.

Sam Smith, Studio Producer at The Progress Film Company, was very happy with how it all went: “The shoot went great [Sussex Film Office] were amazing, super helpful and flexible. As a Brighton based company, anything we get to film on our seafront is great!”
