Our Highlights of 2023!

Happy New Year to all of our wonderful clients, partners, and suppliers! To all of those who work in this industry, we understand that the changes caused by the SAG-AFTRA strikes, the lack of funding, and postponed productions, have meant that 2023 has been challenging. It is therefore more important than ever to reflect on our achievements and celebrate our accomplishments, as fuel for an even better 2024! Here are just a few of our proudest moments of 2023…

Production Highlights

We coordinated the production of 1200 films, TV series, music videos, photo-shoots and more in 2023. Our proudest work was for the upcoming film adaptation of ‘Wicked’ starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, which we facilitated filming for in Sussex back in June, we are very excited for its release in December, and can’t wait to tell you more as the year progresses!

Fashion-shoots were also very popular during the year, and we worked with high-end brands such as Burberry, ZARA, Time Homme, and Morris Stockholm to make their vision come to life across Sussex. We also facilitated filming for a number of TV shows such as The One Show and the FA Cup, and music videos such as for the wonderful Wasia Project.

Showcasing Sussex is always our biggest goal, and we certainly reached this in 2023, one example is the release of ‘The Great Escaper’, a heartwarming story featuring Michael Caine and filmed in Brighton, which reached £3.8m in the box office!

We have also been working on some very exciting projects due to be released next year, including ‘Wicked Little Letters’ starring Olivia Coleman, which we coordinated filming for in Arundel and Worthing.

Local Talent and Collaboration

We pride ourselves on sourcing local talent for the productions we coordinate, and collaborating with local businesses and companies to make Sussex shine. In 2023, this only improved – for example, we have now generated over £118 million for local councils, businesses, and the community. Furthermore, our collaboration with Forestry England now allows filmmakers and photographers to benefit from the incredible Sussex woodland landscapes! In 2024, we expect these achievements to only grow, by collaborating with DMO’s and councils to boost screen tourism in Sussex.

Scenic Backdrops in 2023

Can you believe we’re lucky enough to have all of these stunning locations in our home county? Here are just a few of the Sussex locations that featured on your screens in 2023:

We pride ourselves in sourcing the absolute best location for productions, considering budget, time, and equipment needs. And our team excelled this year, working hard even through power cuts!

Closing Credits

We’re so proud of what we have achieved this year, thank you so much to all who were involved in any aspect of our work – we couldn’t do this without you!

That being said, we can’t wait to kick into action in 2024, we’ve already got lots lined up, we aim to:

  • Work on 1500 productions, including photo-shoots, music videos, and fashion-shoots, as well as TV series and films (watch this space…).
  • Collaborate with DMO’s and councils to increase screen tourism in Sussex.
  • Develop a Production Fund and introduce a platform to connect investors with filmmakers.
  • Launch our new ‘Celebrity Broker Service’, sourcing big names for your upcoming events.
