Portsmouth Historic Dockyard’s ‘Race Across the South Coast’
We were very excited when Portsmouth Historic Dockyard got in touch towards the end of June asking us to arrange some filming in Worthing.
They were putting together a PR stunt – Race Across the South Coast – where they had three historical characters racing from different locations in the South to the Dockyard over in Portsmouth. Who was taking part in the race? Henry VIII, Queen Victoria and Admiral Nelson, no less!
The three figureheads were on a mission, looking for clues and completing challenges along their journeys. The Dockyard needed our help because Queen Victoria would be coming through Worthing and they really wanted to film part of the journey at Worthing Pier and on the Giant Wheel on the promenade. Well, with royalty involved, we just had to make haste and ensure smooth passage through our local seaside town!
The race began on 22 July and was broadcast over three weeks, with followers being able to see their progress on Instangram @phdockyard or Facebook.
