Frequently Asked Questions
Do they provide service staff?

Yes. If you’d like full service, they’ll staff it. If you just want delivery and drop-off, that works too. They adapt to what makes sense for your shoot .

Do they supply drinks?

Yes. They can set up hydration stations, provide hot drinks and soft drinks, or build drinks into meal services depending on what you need.

Can they handle last minute increases in crew members?

Yes. They’re used to numbers shifting and always build in a bit of a contingency. If your headcount changes on the day, they’ll adjust as best they can.

How much notice do they need for an order?

Ideally 72 hours for larger crews so that they can plan menus and logistics properly, but if something last-minute crops up, they’ll always do their best to make it happen!

Can they deliver to multiple locations?

Yes. If your shoot has split units or two locations on the same day, Sussex Chef can plan staggered deliveries or duplicate set-ups so no one misses out.

What kind of menus are on offer?

Menus are generous, balanced, and crew-friendly. Think hot plated meals, BBQ feasts, buffet spreads, or individual bags if you’re moving fast. Always with a good mix of protein, carbs and veg to keep people going.

What’s their minimum crew size?

They’re happy to be flexible depending on the job. As a guide, they usually work with a minimum of 15 crew, but if it makes sense for the production, they’ll always find a way.

Can they deliver at awkward hours?

They’ll be there when you need them!

Do they provide hot food?

Yes, they can bring either hot meals ready to eat in individual portions, or set up on location with their team cooking and serving fresh on site.

Can they provide individually packed meals?

Definitely. They do grab-and-go bags or boxes, each labelled with the person’s name and dietary requirements, so no one is left guessing what’s theirs.

How do they handle dietary requirements?

Sussex Chef handle dietary requirements with care – every meal is labelled clearly and prepared separately to avoid cross-contamination (Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten-Free, Nut-Free etc.)

Can they set up kitchens on location?

Yes! They can bring in a temporary kitchen and cook from scratch on site, which works brilliantly for longer shoots or when you want food straight from the pass.

Do they provide craft service (snacks and drinks throughout the day)?

Yes! They can keep a craft table stocked with fruits, snacks, hot and cold drinks, that constant flow of fuel crews need between meals.
