We The Human: A Quiet Blue Wall

Content warning: mentions mental health and suicide.

Back in September, we worked with artist, musician, multi-media artist, and moving image artist, Laura Mohapi, who designed and developed ‘We The Human: A Quiet Blue Wall‘. This is a social engagement art project supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England along with CNC Projects, Cass Art, Creative Health Camden, Silvertown Studios, Tees Valley Arts, The Head Of A Pin C.I.C, Redcar Palace & The Socially Engaged Art Salon CIC.

An ongoing collaborative art project aiming to run until 2030, it aims to lower the number of suicides through the use of the Cultural and Creative sectors. Laura is from the community of the neurodiverse at risk of suicidal ideation and attempted suicide, for the community wishing to prevent suicide, their own or others.

Someone somewhere or maybe even yourself needs a quiet acknowledgement that struggles with emotional and mental health too many times comes from the complexities of how society is structured.

Laura was looking for a location to shoot some ground and drone footage of an art piece. We sent her a number of suggestions, and she eventually chose a fantastic private location in the countryside outside Petworth. We’ve not yet seen the results of the shoot, but we will definitely be keeping our eyes out for it. Click on the below for more info.
